Hands up…. who’s ready for a sketching holiday somewhere warm and toasty?
Somewhere you don’t have to rush to the window as soon as you wake up in order to decide what clothes to put on, and in how many layers? Somewhere you’ve never been, or a favourite haunt you’ve always wanted to paint…. if you are fully vaccinated, 2022 should be the year we can resume our overseas Vistas holidays.
At the moment, if you live in the UK and have a ‘Covid passport’ (i.e. a document which you can print out or save on your phone) showing you’ve had all your shots – just the two, the booster doesn’t count – you can travel to anywhere that is not on the ‘red list’. This means all our Vistas destinations are currently accessible. On your return (to the UK) you will need to have pre-purchased an official PCR test to take on or before Day 2. This functions like a regular ‘lateral flow’ test, but gives more accurate results. You no longer have to quarantine or isolate, provided you don’t have symptoms, of course, and receive a negative result.
Masks must be worn at the airport and throughout the flight but once we are at destination, local rules apply and in most cases we will be spending the majority of our time outside in the fresh air – and sunshine!
If you are travelling from outside the UK you will need to check your own country’s regulations and it’s really important you don’t book any flights before A. Checking you’ll be allowed to travel, allowed into the destination country, allowed to return to yours without extensive quarantine, and B. Checking with me that the holiday is definitely taking place, and we have the minimum number of participants required to go ahead.
Dust off the suitcase and shake out the shorts, get your booster shots if you haven’t already had them and choose from the following departures which are all set to go:

With a super-comfortable hotel as our base we venture out each day to a different part of this small, pretty, enchanting island.
An hour’s ferry ride from Tenerife, La Gomera did not suffer a great number of Covid cases and is now awaiting our return.
